I’m the style resource in my friend group and the resident fashion person on my street. On that note, I recently ran into one of my neighbors, and she asked what’s in style right now to give off a more fashionable vibe this spring and summer. I mentioned a few trends I love and then texted her a full list of five trends I think are particularly relevant.
Keep scrolling for visual inspiration showcasing key trends this season. I should also mention that my neighbor is a big Nordstrom fan (yes, I’ve seen the boxes on the front porch) and all of the trends I suggested are shoppable at Nordstrom. Go on for more!
Retro Sneakers
My neighbor adores a chic sneaker moment, so I knew she’d rave about the retro sneaker trend. I specifically showed her styles from Adidas, and she loved the cool colors.
Butter-Yellow and Powder-Pink Pieces
On the color-trend front, it’s the butter-yellow and powder-pink era. As my neighbor mentioned, these colors are just so pretty and fresh for the season.
Romantic-Feeling Separates
There’s been a rise in romantic-feeling pieces, like flowy blouses and lace-trimmed skirts. It’s the latter that appealed most to my neighbor, thinking that she could style a skirt with a tee or blouse for an easy yet chic outfit idea.
Relaxed Tailoring
The idea of “soft power” is a huge spring 2025 trend. So yes, sleek yet relaxed tailoring pieces continue to have a moment. You just can’t go wrong with a gorgeous blazer or pair of trousers to create a stylish look.
1960s-Inspired Items
Sixties-inspired nostalgia pieces are trending, with a focus on elegant and polished pieces like pillbox hats, tailored jackets, classic pumps, and more. My neighbor adored the sophistication here.
